Te Ata
In Te Ata's role she likes that she's able to listen to the children’s voice. Helping them find the light within their darkness. Educating whānau on what the options are out there that can help them overcome the barriers they are facing.
When she was asked what she can do for whānau and our community her response was, "I’m not here to tell whānau and our community what to do. I’m here to guide and walk alongside whānau on their journey to succeed in their goals. I'm there to listen to the children’s voices and support the whānau in raising their children".
Outside of mahi Te Ata enjoys spending time with whānau and friends, making birthday cakes, weaving Harakeke (Flax), and cooking.
Te Ata's greatest achievement in life so far is giving birth to her daughter and, watching her become the beautiful young lady she has become.
Te Ata holds a Bachelor of Social Work.
